हिल्साबाट हाल्जी पुग्ने लक्ष्य थियो । लगातार हिढ्दा पनि हामीलाई १२ घण्टा लाग्थ्यो । ढिलो हिँडाइ त्यैमाथि बाटामा पुतली र चराहरुले झन भुलाई दिए हामीलाई । हामी चार जना वेलुकि ५ वजेतिर नाम्का पासदेखि मुनीको गुफामा पुग्यौँ । अगाढि

बढ्ने सम्ंभावना रहेन । भरियाहरु सबै सामान लिएर केहि दिन अगाढि नै हिँडीसकेका थिए । साथमा २ वटा चाउचाउ मात्र बाँकि थियो । भोलिको बाटो पनि बाँकि नै थियो । “भोली के हुन्छ थाहा छैन, आज त बाँच्नै पर्यो नी दाई” भन्दै यादव र विधान दाउराका झिँझाहरु खोज्न लागे । हामीसँग पकाउने भाँडा भने थिएन तर मेरो दिमागमा एउटा उपाय आयो र म फालिएका जुस अथवा वियरका क्यानहरु भेटिन्छ कि भनेर यताउती खोज्न थालें । एक घण्टाको अवधिमा बल्लतल्ल चार वटा पुराना क्यानहरु भेटियो । त्यतिनै समयमा उनिहरु पनि फर्के । सानो चक्कुले क्यान खोलेर चाउचाउ भरियो । नजिकै पानी पनि भेटियो । वन लसुनका पातहरु पनि हालियो । क्यान पातलो भएकोले पाक्यो होला भनेर छिट्टै निकालियो तर पाकेको रहेनछ् । आधा काँचो आधा पाकेको चाइनिज चाउचाउ खाएर त्यो रात गुफामा बिताइयो ।

Memory of Humla

We planned to reach Halzi village from Hilsa, a border town in Humla, which takes 12 hours of continuous walk. Beautiful butterflies and birds further slowed down our already slow walk. Ultimately we reached a cave just below Namaka Pass at around 5 PM. It was not possible to move ahead. We were four people and had only two packets of noodles and on top of that we still had a fair distance to walk tomorrow.

“Let’s eat those noodles, we'll see whatever happens tomorrow”, Yadav and Bidhan said and went to collect some firewood. We had nothing to cook the noodles on. Suddenly something came to my mind and I looked for abandoned juice or beer cans. After an hour, we managed both cans and firewood. We cooked the noodles on the can and also added wild garlic. Because of thin layer of cans, we thought that noodle was cooked already, but it was only half cooked. We ate Chinese noodles and spent that memorable night in that cave
